Reflex
Therapy
Modern
reflexology has become very focused on working points on the feet. Fortunately
working the hands is now being recognized as a powerful form of natural healing.
However, there are points all over the body and I believe that having the
ability to work in many different ways will allow you to best meet the needs of
your clients. This course will therefore guide you through a much wider variety
of treatments, starting with facial and ear reflexology, and continuing on to
hand and foot reflexology. Additionally you will learn techniques usually
considered to be ‘advanced’ but which I consider to be essential for you to
bring the very best benefits to your future clients.
In
your reflex therapy training you will learn how to locate and feel the reflex
zones and specific acupoints, to assess and then give the required response to
that reflex and to your client. A client might need relaxing or stimulating, or
the reflex zone might need specific manipulation in order to create change. You
will learn how to work with your client on all levels and with many different
facets of the harmonics of healing in order to help them move closer to a state
of balance and harmony. You will be encouraged to develop your own way of
working with the reflex zones, and to develop your intuitive response. Towards
the end of the course, as your intuition develops, you will be encouraged to
link into sounds, colour and the use of gemstones, all forms of vibrational
resonance to use on the reflex zones; and to apply essential or herbal oils to
the feet, which is a very ancient way of healing.
In
addition to the practical reflex therapy skills, you will learn about stress
management – the causes and effects of stress and which healthy living practices
will help. You will look at basic nutrition, the benefits of exercise and above
all the importance of living in a relaxed and balanced way. You will be taught
some relaxation and breathing exercises, all of which you will be able to teach
to your clients. Implicit in both the study of reflex therapy and stress
management, will be your growing awareness and understanding of the very
powerful link between mind, body and spirit.
Underpinning
the healing arts, you will be given a thorough grounding in the workings of the
body through the learning of anatomy, physiology and pathology. Finally, on a
very practical level, you will be given guidance in setting up and running your
reflex therapy practice.
Healer,
Heal thyself
In
many ways this is the most important aspect of the training, as self-healing is
essential for your own personal development as a healer. Throughout the training
great emphasis will be placed on the importance of self-healing and you will be
expected to test all the healing arts on yourself. One of my fundamental beliefs
is that we should never ask anyone else to do something we have not already done
ourselves. This way we can better understand the benefits, difficulties,
commitment and outcomes of the natural ways. As a potential reflex therapy
healer you need time to consider and experience all the issues raised in the
classroom and how to integrate them into your life. This experiential learning
will bring balance to the academic learning and will equip you to be better able
to assist those who will seek your professional help. If you understand the
difficulties and complexities of bringing change to your own life, you will be
able to work with others with more compassion and understanding.
"In
order to understand creation, men first have to understand themselves
In
order to heal - one firstly heals one-self"
