Water Poisoning

On 11 November 2003 , Clause 61 of the Water Bill was voted in by MPs.  This will allow strategic health authorities in the UK and N Ireland to force water companies to fluoridate supplies after local consultation.  Technically the water companies have had the power to do just this since 1985 but have rarely done so for fear of legal action from consumers.

Mass, compulsory medication in this way, regardless of supposed health benefits or otherwise, completely contravenes basic human rights – the right of the individual to decide what he or she wants to put into his or her body.  In any event, medication delivered through the taps is completely uncontrolled.  How can it be measured how much one drinks, what is used in cooking or food manufacturing processes, what we absorb through our skin when bathing or showering?  It is a completely ‘unscientific’ process dictated by a system that claims to be scientific!

But then, we can’t in any way disregard the health risks linked to fluoride.  For example, our thyroid gland, responsible for the metabolism of every single cell in our body, is extremely sensitive to unnatural substances.  Many people already have weakened or unbalanced thyroid glands because of the high level of pollution in our environment, including in particular the chlorine in the water system.  In fact, it’s not that long ago that fluoride salts were used with the intention of depressing thyroid activity in the over-active thyroid.  This action as an enzyme poison has obviously been conveniently forgotten.

This one example of potential health risk is aside from a host of other possible problems, from ‘simple’ tooth mottling to cancer.

When I began to investigate water fluoridation, I found that in fact there are many different types of fluoride and that the one they propose to use has never been tested on human beings, apart from in those areas of the UK and N Ireland where artificially fluoridating the water already occurs.  In these areas the local people are the live guinea pigs!  What has been tested is a very pure grade of sodium fluoride in purified water – and since when is our water purified!  What is actually being used is a product called silicofluorides, known as hexafluorsilicic acid – the toxic waste product from phosphate fertilizer pollution scrubbers.  And this particular product carries with it a host of other toxic materials, including arsenic, beryllium, mercury, lead and many more.

Additionally there has been no testing done in any country which already artificially fluoridates its drinking water, of the impact of total fluoride exposure.  IE, what we drink, take in through our skin, in cooking, in drugs, in toothpaste, etc.  Neither its potential effect when combined with chlorine and other water treatment chemicals.  Dental fluorosis, ie tooth mottling is recognized as a problem affecting those parts of the world with high levels of naturally occurring fluoride in the water.  IE, it is linked to an increased ingestion of fluoride.  However, it is usually disparagingly described as “only a cosmetic side-effect”.  Now, as our children are the main targets for water fluoridation, to supposedly reduce dental cavities, can you imagine the psychological damage on their self-esteem and confidence if or when they develop mottled teeth?  No doubt there will be a flurry of new products developed to counter this effect.  Yet more medication!  The truth is that this is not purely a cosmetic side-effect but an indication of underlying toxicity.  And the government knows this.  As far back as 1999, Baroness Hayman, for the government stated:

“We accept that dental fluorosis is a manifestation of systemic toxicity … “

(Hansard, 20 April 1999)

Interestingly, if you look in the 1993 edition of the Concise Oxford Dictionary, fluorosis is defined as:

“poisoning by fluorine or its compounds.”

The key phrase in this new piece of legislation is “after local consultation”.  No-one knows how this will take effect.  Will every ‘local’ individual be entitled to vote?  I somehow doubt it.  In any event, many ‘locals’ may not have the ability or time to fully assess the situation, especially when information given is often vague and misleading at best.  I suspect that ‘local consultation’ will only involve local authorities and not the general public.

However, if you live in the UK or N Ireland , and value your freedom to choose what you put in your body – and that of our children – then I suggest you write to your MP and your water company and keep abreast of what is happening.  Otherwise, the first thing we as ‘locals’ might know about it is to discover that it is already in the water.  Remember, the fluoride in question is a contaminant and it is planned to add it to the water with the express intention of creating biological change.  In you.  But more especially, the children.

Iris and I have done just this.  Iris wrote the following to the Cornish Times, as a reply to a gentleman trying to raise our attention to the impending bill:

“POISONED WATER”

Isn’t it marvelous?  Our water, our food, the earth, the air, has all been contaminated, mutated and interfered with, along with other unspeakable acts, by men whose only consideration is for the powers they desire to control creation.  Mankind stands by ready to give up all its inborn gifts, its spirituality, in order to grab in greed the so-called glitter of a lifestyle promised them in return for complete surrender of the principle which once was a spiritual living practice in harmony with the natural order, turning a blind eye to the evil repealing of the original laws of creation and the works of the creator.

Graham Danton of Downderry, writing in Letters on 12 September, on our poisoned water situation, should be taken very seriously indeed.  But then when did gullible people ever listen to wisdom until too late.

And as for tooth decay.  Perhaps we need to take a step backwards to move forward.  Perhaps we need to look at children’s diets to see why their teeth are decaying.  Sugars, sugar substitutes, colourings, flavourings, etc.  General environmental pollution.  Weakened immune systems bombarded by vaccinations.  Could these play a part?  We can’t keep piling on more medications on top of each man-made disorder!
